With DSR the frame buffer should be scaled down before capturing, because the GPU is handling the scaling, which in some cases can lead to stretched images (at least for my resolutions, going from 16:10 to 16:9). I haven't tried this by myself, but it should work in theory. Then, the Steam Link may be able to capture 4k signal. Then you may make the "fake monitor" as your main monitor and set game resolution to 4k. However, it's possible to use a headless HDMI UHD adaptor, which fools your PC as if it's connected to a 4k monitor and rendering 4k signal to it. Steam Link captures the raw signal on your PC's main monitor, thus will have to be in the same resolution. so if I set my Desktop or Game to 4K using DSR and transfer 4K via Steam Link to my TV 4K, will I be able to see 4k or just 4k DSR to 1080P ?
